William A. Peeples letters, 1944-1945.

Peeples writes about his life after he was convicted in a court martial of an unnamed offense. He mentions visiting New York on leave and attending concerts, his desire to return to active duty at sea, the help her letters have been, plans for the future and fear that the United States will not escape the next conflagration, his reading and library use, thoughts on war, desire to travel after the war, return to the U.S.S. Gadsden and gratitude to her and his family. Each letter closes with a thought for the day from a philosopher.
